Nice, Bastille Day 2016 by Debasis Mukhopadhyay

I am not a silent poet

bones splinter down the roads
like they do
here
here
&
where
your breath
cuts
thoughts
to
melt
with
sundown
&
sea
where
sea foam
froths
over the mound of bodies
watching
an evening sky
still
so clear
so profound
so dead
where
chalks breaking
into pieces
&
melting
in our fingers
waiting
to circle the world
